Hello, I recently downloaded the sims 2 but I am unable to get it to work!
I have followed the replacing the sgr files with ones posted in previous threads, and following this guide as well.
I'm attempting to run the game on windows 10, I have an Nvida GTX 1070 but the game is choosing to use my inbuilt graphics processor, which is no big issue but if I can get it to use my graphics card that would be great!
I have tried adding both to the video cards sgr, replacing the files with the updates ones in the CSconfig folder, also using the default files and using the previously provided sgr files.
I saw in a previous thread that this line should read "Kiri: Force Low settings because Intel removed", but I have no idea how to fix that issue.

So i was looking around on my desktop when i noticed i had sims 2 installed (with all the Expansion packs, the Holiday pack and the Mansion and Garden pack installed) i thought i would give it a try to see if it still worked, to my surprise, it did. however i noticed that there was the weird boxes on the ground under sims (which from what i heard can be fixed by changing the shadow settings) but what really was weird, was in create a sim, stuff was missing, i couldn't change my sims face by using those options, because they were not there, it was just an empty box. i couldn't add stubble and nearly all the beards were missing, same with outfits, hair ect..

The Game would run completely normal, but the stuff in create a sim was missing, does anybody know how to fix this?

Hi,

I've recently purchased a new laptop with Windows 10 and have been reading for hours online on how to resolve my problem. I've tried replacing the video and graphic files, and creating my own, but no luck.

If I run sims I receive the direct 9 error. If I add -w in in properties then the Sims loads but only in a small window.

I feel I'm going wrong somewhere, so any help with the relevant files that I need to copy and paste would be fantastic.

Attached is my config file. There is no Nvdia graphics card.

Hi,

I know there's a topic on this, but it's closed. I'm on Windows 7, have 16 GB of Ram, have a GTX 1060 ... but I'm experiencing some frame drops. I have the ultimate collection from Origin. Now, this is really the first time playing with my 1060. I have already altered the graphics file that allowed me to have smooth edges on and a proper resolution.

Anyway, the lag thread says to try to remove securom but the problem is, I went to the site GAMESWORLD to download a noCD exe, but all the mirrors were offline. (Plus my antivirius said the site wasn't safe.)

Can someone post the no cd EXE for Mansion and Garden stuff? That is the one to use if you have the UC, right?

If someone can host that file then I can attempt to remove securom and see if the frame rate drops stop.

EDIT: I have since properly added my new graphics card to the videocards.sgr file, as per the thread Leefish linked to. Game seems a tiny bit better, but on community lots, problem is especially noticeable at speed 3, where the game will drop to as low as 7 fps. I have applied the 4 gb patch and I also used CFF Explorer to double check. Also have the game in windowed mode, tried throttling the CPU, no change. Game is playable, but the FPS drops are like lag spikes and bothersome. Shouldn't be happening in a game from 2009.

Hi,

I recently downloaded the Sims 2 UC on my new PC and I'm getting the uncontrollable Pink Flashing. I've watched youtube videos and all but even using boolProp UseShaders false doesn't work on anything but the neighborhood view. I have installed the 4gb patch and used Graphics Rules Maker to make the game detect my graphics card and increase my texture memory.
I've linked my config log and my dxDiag just in case that might help too? I'm unsure haha but any help would be greatly appreciated. I have no cc/mods installed.
