Hey all,

So I got a new laptop not too long ago and wanted to play but even after trying all the tips recommended with re-installing the game, graphic srm, and deleting caches.
I can't get past choosing a neighborhood before it terminates or gets stuck loading a neighborhood forever. Any suggestions besides those listed?

Sims 2 UC crashing on loading screen

Hello,

I have the sims 2 UC and have played it with no issues for more than a year. Very recently I had to replace my LCD monitor and since then it will not start up (that is the only change I have made so that's why it is included, sorry if it is actually irrelevant) What I think is weird and can't find ANY info on is this: it completely skips the intro movie before the initial loading screen. Before I took out ALL CC it would freeze on "storing solar energy" or whatever. I removed the CC, and even completely uninstalled and reinstalled (completely deleting ALL files related to the UC before re-installation) and without adding CC to the game I am still having the same problem, only that it freezes on over-waxing bannisters now. I know that this isn't a case of just waiting for it to load completely because I left it overnight and it still never got past the loading screen, and it is Not Responsive in the task manager. I have absolutely no idea what has happened and sims 2 is really my favorite game, so I really want to figure this out. Any help would be hugely appreciated. I have used the graphics rules maker as well as replacing the graphics rules and video cards fixes from here.

Weird Glitches and Crashes on Save with UC

Hey! Okay, so I've not seen anything like this before and the further I dig into it the less it all makes sense, and the more frustrated I become. In all honesty I don't even know if it's a graphic card issue or just general shenanigans so please let me know if I've posted in the wrong place. Since about November '17, I think, things started getting weird, but I had chalked it up as my ancient hood finally reaching BFBVFS status. However, as I tinkered and started fresh it all went sideways. The game seems to freeze whenever it saves. Either on the lot, or when leaving a lot to neighborhood view. It appears to load the neighborhood behind the load screen, to the point where I can click and actually move things around. I always have to shut it down via task manager.
Then these awesome glitches started to appear on the lots where this happened:

**Harville was on the way to being a new hood. Besides this family and lot, it was empty of anything.

I've gone through my cc, and while a good portion of it seems fine, it's the most random of files that cause the issue, and it's not recently added files either. Hair for instance will cause the 'crash' when it's with the rest of the cc, but seems fine on its own. This also occurs with Accessories, Clothing, and a handful of different Buy Mode things (though not all categories). Which makes me think it's a conflict somewhere, but I haven't gotten anything really new since it last played nice. The only thing I had added in attempt to avoid further issues were things such as Cyjon's debugger. I also completely uninstalled my game, thinking I'd screwed something up trying to install it to a different drive, which was around November, but this continues even with it installed in the default folder and with a completely clean hood (minus the two sims I made to test).
I'm on Windows 7 and my config log should be attached.
I really appreciate any help with this. Banging my head against the wall hasn't proved effective...

E_INVALIDARG when running on NVIDIA GeForce 840m

Sims 2 absolutely refuses to run on my NVIDIA card. It will load up in the background, and then shoot me an "E_INVALIDARG" error. Every time I have looked up this error, not a single answer has been helpful. Constantly the answer is "just run integrated" but integrated leads to memory leaks and I cannot play long without purple flashing.

I am running on 8.1.

I really like them. Unfortunately, they are blue icons in the game, but, they show up when placed on the lot. I already tried to delete my cache files and reinstall, to no change. Help please.

Hey, everyone. I am always interested in the game's internals and how the game handles stuff and I was wondering if it'd be feasible to remove every "Is this Sim dead? if so, delete them" check in the game so deceased Sims can then be summoned via InSimenator / whatever else and can be played as.

I tried (and absolutely failed) to replace the Function - Main - Remove Ghost BHAV with the normal Function - Main (which all living Sims use) and this allowed the ghost to stay on the lot once summoned outside of the typical haunting hours, but it made the game lag immensely! No idea why this happened. My only possible guess is the game was spawning tons of controllers or something.

I've heard tons of stuff in the game will actually check if a Sim is dead (whether it be socials or just objects) and it will immediately delete the Sim off the lot if it comes back as them being dead.

My goal here is this: I want to know if someone like me (who doesn't really know how to read BHAVs at all) could pull off such an over-the-top mod like this?

Oh, and this is for personal use. I wouldn't distribute it since I know nothing about BHAV editing and I would hate to ruin someone's neighborhood if they installed my mod and it caused a ruckus.
